Geneva Debut : Aston Martin DBS Volante and Vantage V12

First up is the convertible version of the DBS. The iconic Bond-mobile, whose name may have finally been determined, will make for a stunning drop-top. Not unlike arch-rival Ferrari, which took the 430 Scuderia and crossed it with the F430 Spider to create the 16M Scuderia Spider, Aston will take the fixed-roof DBS and put it in a room together with the DB9 Volante, dim the lights, put on some Boys2Men and let nature run its course.

Aston Martin doesn't have a huge product range. In fact, until the Rapide and One-77 come along, its line-up essentially boils down to two models: the Vantage and the DB9. And if reports coming straight from Switzerland are to be believed, the now-independent British sportscar company is descending on the Geneva Motor Show next month with new top-of-the-line variants of both.

Reportedly joining the DBS Volante/Roadster will be the production V12 Vantage RS. Forgot about that one? It's easy when Aston keeps serving up delectable new flagship supercars, so we'll scribble the recipe down for you again: take one V8 Vantage and the 600-hp V12 engine from the DBRS9 race car. Add louvers, spoilers, carbon fiber and alcantara. Shake (don't stir). Production should be very limited, and performance should be blistering. Stay tuned.

Toyota has revised the Aygo for the UK market

Aygo is a success story in miniature. Since launch in 2005 this small but perfectly formed Toyota has amassed more than 100,000 sales a year across Europe, its combination of low cost of ownership, contemporary styling and fun-to-drive character making it a top performer in the expanding A-segment.

Now the factors that have made Aygo a winner have been further sharpened to make it an even stronger proposition. The result is the new 2009 Aygo, on sale now.

The revised Aygo range includes two new feature models, Aygo Blue and Aygo Black, with exclusive equipment specifications, plus the established Aygo and Aygo+, in three and five-door body styles. All are powered by the Engine of the Year class-winning 1.0-litre VVT-i petrol unit, with five-speed manual or MultiMode transmission.

Hyundai Super Bowl Commercials Debut Early!

Being the experts on Super Bowl car commercials, we can do things like bring you the ads before they even air as part of our Super Bowl Ad Watch. Below we have the five advertisements Hyundai will show during and before the big game. Three of the ads will run during pre-show, also sponsored by Hyundai, and "Bosses" and "Contract" will run during the second and third quarters. Our perspective on these new advertisements below.

Title: Contract
Grade: C
Message: Hyundai has your back if you lose your job or income.
Our Take: For people who are freaked out about the economy the message may hit home, but it's just so boring.

Title: Commitment
Grade: C+
Message: If you're willing to commit to Hyundai, they're willing to commit to you.
Our Take: The 'commitment isn't scary' approach of this commercial for the Hyundai Assurance program works better than the "Contract" commercial because it implies we're all in the economic mess together. Still, it's rather boring.

Title: Columns
Grade: B
Message: The Hyundai Genesis won the 2009 North American Car Of The Year, something the automaker is obviously proud of as evidenced by the bragging.
Our Take: The commercial is good and, given Hyundai can afford multiple Super Bowl spots, there's nothing wrong with a little boastfullness. What really sells it, though, is the clip of the Hyundai Genesis Coupe.

Grade: B+
Message: By winning the 2009 North American Car Of The Year award we've put BMW and Lexus on notice.
Our Take: Because everyone may not be cool with the idea of buying Korean while the American economy is hurting, Hyundai is smart enough to take aim at the Germans and the Japanese. The portrayals of the two "axis powers" is a bit over the top, but it makes the ad work.

Title: Epic Lap
Grade: A-
Message: You want the Genesis Coupe so badly you'll go to EditYourOwn.com and re-edit your own commercial, which isn't up yet.
Our Take: Yeooooowww! Much like the 2010 Hyundai Genesis reveal, this car is all about power slides and burnouts. What does Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins have to do with driving an epic lap? We have no idea. But we give the 1990s alternarock icon credit for mixing together a sweet commercial.

New Images and Video for Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro in Depth

It's been quite a journey for the R8 V10, from the various spy pictures to the infamous spy video where the test car accidentally caught fire at the Nurburgring right up until it was officially detailed in early December 2008. That journey ends when it becomes available in Germany from the second quarter of 2009 at a base price of €142,400 (US$183,000).

Click on the video to hear one of the most glorious sounds a petrol engine can make. This is the sound of the Audi R8 V10, the most powerful Audi sports car ever made. The engine is a 258kg 5.2-litre naturally aspirated mill that pushes out 525hp (386kW) and 530Nm of torque. It can rev up to 8,700rpm and achieves a specific power output of 100.9hp per litre . Audi says it will help the car burst from 0 - 100km/h in 3.9 seconds and go on until it reaches 316 km/h (196.35 mph). The Audi R8 V10 is said to return average fuel consumption figures of 13.7 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers (17.17 US mpg).

The interior is fitted with fine Nappa leather seats, a Bang & Olufsen sound system and other optional extras that include a Bluetooth interface, front spoiler, a rear diffuser and side blades.

Two transmission options are available; a 6-speed manual transmission and an R tronic sequential gearbox that can be actuated via peddles or the gear lever. R tronic can also be set to change gears automatically. There is a launch control application for both transmissions. Quattro AWD sends power to all four 19-inch wheels (with a rear-wheel bias), which are planted to the ground via 235/35 front tyres and 295/30 rear tyres. Customers have the option of buying ceramic brakes to go with them.

New Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart Sportback 2009

New Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart Sportback 2009 :
Perhaps its my bias toward sports cars, but the Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart Sportback is the first vehicle to hit the Paris auto show that genuinely excites me. A hatch-y spin on Mitsubishi’s best selling sport model, the Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart Sportback is a celebration of the Lancer’s 35th anniversary. Easier on the wallet than the Evo yet far more badass than the Lancer Sports Sedan/Sports back, the Ralliart Sportback boasts a 2.0L MIVEC engine under the hood, producing a respectable 237-hp and 253 lb-ft of torque.

Scheduled for European release in the spring of 2009, no date has been given yet for the Ralliart Sportback’s jump across the pond, but I await its arrival with quivering anticipation [no sarcasm intended]
